6 years old teaches you about life

Dialogue:

“Imagine yourself 90 years old, on a porch in a rocking chair looking back on your life. Got the image? Good! Now let me tell you. Studies shows that the biggest regret from the elderly people on their deathbed is not what they did. It’s what they didn’t do. The risk they never took. How sad would it be to get to the end of your life and realized you never truly lived.

This is your life. Nobody else’s. No matter how much this society, your parents, your friends want you to live the way they want to live. You run the show. When you shut your eyes and go to sleep at night the entire world ceased to exist and when you wake up, it is born again.
This is your life. You’re in control. You gotta do what feels right in your heart. Now go back to the rocking chair and think what would your future self say about the ideas you never created, your books you never wrote, the words you never spoke because you were tired, because you were scared or you wanted to fit in and be cool.

But greatness ain’t about being cool. A great man or woman will never fit in because they stand out. But I get it, you want it easy. But if greatness is easy, you would see a lot of successful people and lots of great people. Astronauts, professional athletes or superheroes, but you don’t. You see lots of people with big mouth making excuses on Facebook trying to get likes but they don’t even like themselves.

See the difference between winners and losers is persistence and it ain’t talent but persistence. My teacher told me about the bamboo tree. After planting the seed, it takes five years for it to break through the ground. That is five whole years of attention, care and water every day. If you miss a day, it dies, right there. But once it breaks through the ground, after five years, within five weeks it grows 90 feet tall. So your journey isn’t gonna be easy, it’s gonna take time.

When you have a dream, people gonna laugh because they won’t see what you see. They will say,”What is that idiot doing, watering the ground?” They are incapable of seeing the plant that is planted inside of you. They have sight but no vision. Only you have the vision. So let them laugh. They will say be real. Be realistic. But realism is often an excuse for pessimism and you can’t let other people’s opinion define your reality. So let them laugh.

But I guarantee, you won’t find one successful person in history that people didn’t laughed at. So stop worrying about your reputation because your reputation let people think about you. Your character is who you are. Make the commitment wholeheartedly. Stop thinking. Just do it. Do it for yourself, the real you because you deserved it. You don’t get to do it over in life. So live your dreams. You don’t gotta be great to get started, but you gotta get started to be great."
